Based in Salinas, working across the valley
Salinas Security works in Salinas every day and every night. Our officers stand posts and drive patrol routes from downtown and Oldtown to the Abbott Street industrial area, up North Main, through Boronda and North Salinas, and out to the homes and shops of Creekbridge and Williams Ranch.
Coverage carries past the city line too: Marina, Seaside and Monterey toward the coast, Castroville and Prunedale to the north, and Gonzales down the 101. A packing house beside a lettuce field and a medical office on a busy boulevard get the same kind of planning. We learn how the property runs from opening to lockup, then decide where an officer, a patrol car or a camera does the most good.
Guards, patrols, cameras and fire watch
A plan can open with security guard services: an officer at a lobby desk, a front gate or a loading dock. Choose unarmed officers for a steady, visible presence, or armed security guards where the risk calls for one; armed officers hold exposed-firearm permits. When a full shift is more than a site needs, mobile patrol sends a marked car past at changing hours, and alarm response puts an officer at the door when a sensor trips after closing.
Cameras stretch a plan further. Remote video monitoring keeps live eyes on your feeds between patrol stops, so a person climbing a fence at 2 a.m. is noticed while it is happening, not the next morning.
Other needs arrive suddenly or last a set number of weeks. Fire watch covers a building while its alarm or sprinkler system is out of service, and temporary security guards fill a gap during a renovation, a vacancy or harvest season; both can often start within 24 hours. Construction site security protects tools and materials on open jobsites, event security handles gates, crowds and parking, executive protection stays with a person through a day of meetings and field visits, and school crossing guards help students across busy streets before and after class. The full list sits on our services page.
How a post is run
Before an officer takes a post, the paperwork is settled. We are insured, we carry workers’ compensation and we are bonded, and each client receives a certificate of insurance when service begins, ready for an owner, a lender or a landlord who asks.
Every officer has passed a background check and holds a BSIS guard card. Post orders are written for your property, so the officer knows which doors to test, who is expected after hours and whom to reach when something looks off. Rounds are logged with times, and a written report reaches you once each shift ends.
Supervisors come out for quality inspections. They walk the post beside the officer on duty, compare the logged rounds with the written orders and fix anything that has drifted. Our team is reachable 24/7, and every request sent through the contact form gets a reply within one business day. Contracts are month to month.
Property types we guard
The Salinas Valley blends farm business with city life, and our coverage follows that blend. We guard packing houses, coolers and processing plants, warehouses and distribution yards along the truck routes, and office buildings downtown. Retail centers and storefronts, apartment communities and HOAs, parking lots and garages, and medical offices each need something different, from a visible officer at opening time to a patrol car checking a dark lot in the small hours.
We also protect banks, hotels, churches, schools, data centers, self-storage facilities, mobile home parks, rehab and treatment facilities, cannabis dispensaries, front desks and lobbies, and buildings that sit empty between tenants. Each property type has its own page under security by industry.
Starting with a walkthrough
A new plan begins with a free walkthrough. Send us a note through the contact page telling us where the property is, when it fills up and empties out, and what has been worrying you. We walk the site together, look at entrances, lighting and blind spots, and put the coverage we recommend into a written quote. Officers start on the date you approve.
To get ready, our guide to preparing for a security walkthrough lists what to gather, and the security guard cost calculator gives you a working budget before we meet.
