The lobby sets the tone
The first person a visitor meets says a lot about a building. In a Salinas office lobby, a medical office building or an apartment community, a front desk security officer greets people by name, gets them where they are going and quietly keeps out anyone without a reason to be there.
Concierge security blends those two jobs. It is part hospitality and part watchfulness, and the balance shifts with your building. We post desk officers anywhere in town, from Oldtown and Main Street to the offices off North Main and the business streets near Abbott Street.
Visitor sign-in and badges
The officer checks each visitor against the day’s appointments or a call to the tenant, signs them in, hands out a visitor badge and collects it on the way out. A paper log, a tablet or your own visitor system all work, as long as the post orders spell it out.
Contractors and vendors get the same steps. When someone shows up without an appointment, the officer calls your contact before letting them past the desk. The result is a clean record of who came, who they saw and when they left.
Deliveries and couriers
Parcel carriers, food delivery drivers and couriers come through all day. The officer logs each package, holds it for the tenant or resident, and keeps drivers from wandering upstairs with an armful of boxes. Larger deliveries get pointed to the loading door you choose.
Residents and tenants know where to pick up, and nothing sits in the vestibule for a stranger to carry off. If you want a text or email sent when a package arrives, we build that into the routine.
Office lobbies and multi-tenant buildings
In a building with several tenants, the desk officer knows which suite is which and who is expected. Early mornings, the officer unlocks on schedule and watches the doors as staff arrive. Late afternoons, the officer keeps an eye on the garage and walks people to their cars on request.
Our office building security page covers rounds and after-hours coverage for whole office properties; a desk post is often the anchor of that plan.
Residential towers and apartment lobbies
At an apartment or condo lobby, the officer becomes a familiar face. Residents get help with guests, movers and package pickups, and the officer keeps the fob doors from being held open for people who don’t live there. Move-in days get a little extra attention at the elevators and loading area.
Communities that want gate, pool and parking coverage too can add it through our apartment and HOA security service.
After-hours lobby
After the building closes, the job changes. The desk officer locks the entrances, checks every floor or wing on a timed round and handles the late arrivals your list allows. Overnight, a desk officer can stay posted, or patrol visits can check the doors and the garage at random times.
Every round and every after-hours visitor goes into the shift report, which reaches your property manager by email the next morning.
Choosing desk hours
Start with the hours when the most people come through the door. For an office building, that is the morning arrival and the lunch hour; for an apartment lobby, the late afternoon and evening, when residents come home and deliveries pile up. A desk officer can cover those peaks alone, or the post can run from opening to lock-up.
We map the traffic with you during the free walkthrough and set the schedule to match. Hours can change from one month to the next as tenants move in, a building fills up or a new entrance opens. Our coverage hours guide walks through the same questions.
Officers and pricing
Desk posts are unarmed, staffed by officers who are courteous on the phone and steady with an upset visitor. Every officer is background checked and holds a BSIS guard card, and a supervisor does quality inspections at the desk. Your property manager gets a certificate of insurance ahead of the first desk shift.
A front desk security officer costs $36 to $50 an hour. Desk hours, after-hours rounds and how many entrances need watching set the monthly total. We walk the lobby with you for free, and terms run month to month.
A few useful answers
Common questions
What does concierge security cover in a Salinas lobby?
It is a front desk officer who handles guest service and security together: greeting, sign-in, badges, deliveries and watching the entrance.
Can the officer use our visitor management system?
Yes. We train the officer on your system during the first shift and write it into the post orders.
Do you cover lobbies overnight?
Yes. An officer can stay at the desk all night, or patrol visits can check the doors and garage after the desk closes.
Can a desk officer accept packages for residents?
Yes. Packages are logged and held for pickup, with a note to the resident if you want one.
